KQA Pillars
At Knowledge Quest Academy (KQA), we uphold core values that reflect our philosophy of education. We refer to these values as our “pillars” because we believe they provide the foundation and support for quality education and for preparing our students to become responsible citizens. The KQA Pillars include:
Respect
Show consideration for others and their property; listen to and follow instructions of those in authority; honor others; follow the Golden Rule; and be courteous and polite.
Responsibility
Do what we say we’ll do; be accountable for our actions and consequences because we know right from wrong; be dependable and reliable; and don’t make excuses or blame others.
Family
Respect and honor your parents, your brothers and sisters, and the members of your school family. Whenever possible, do what you can to make their lives easier.
Love of Country
Use the rights and privileges one has a member of the community to make that community a better place; be socially responsible; obey laws and rules; do your part for the common good; respect authority; and help your community by volunteerism.
Cooperation
Listen to and pay attention to others; share and take turns; do a fair share of the work; acknowledge the contributions of others; serve others with patience and a positive attitude; and work well with others.
Integrity
Know the difference between right and wrong, and have the courage to do what’s right (even when it’s not easy to do so); live up to the highest ethical standard without compromising one’s value; and build and guard your reputation.
Perseverance
Stick to a purpose and never give up on what you have to do; be determined to improve; be committed to justice; don’t leave things unfinished; and strive for excellence.
Volunteerism
Think bigger than yourself, and give your time and effort to those in need, whether that means helping your brother or sister, your parents, your neighbor, or assisting through a nonprofit.
Self-control
Be rational, and act out of reason, not anger. Know the difference between what you have a right to do and what is right to do; be in control of yourself, not letting others influence your decision as to what is right or wrong; and be disciplined, exerting power over what you do.
Code of Honor
At Knowledge Quest Academy (KQA), we promote personal responsiblity and believe that it is essential to creating a thriving learning environment. As a reminder to all students of this expectation, we begin each morning by reciting our Code of Honor.
As a KQA citizen I am expected to try my hardest and do my best; to help others and myself learn; to manage myself and use proper language and treat myself and others with kindness and respect; to take care of property, to be honest with myself and others.
